Background and Overview
Tak-Poi Mak was till recently the Regional Learning Manager (Asia Pacific - Middle East) for Shell Singapore. He was with Shell for 36 years.
He is a mechanical engineer by discipline. He accumulated over 20 years of extensive work experience in project engineering, engineering maintenance and safety with Shell in New Zealand and Singapore. However, for the last 15 years, his work in Shell shifted to his area of passion - helping People and Organisation achieve excellence by learning & development and effective implementation of sound human performance technologies.
Tak-Poi has designed, resourced workshops, facilitated and consulted on Management and Leadership Development, Performance and Learning Technologies, Crucial Communications, Change & Transformation, Coaching, Teambuilding, Action Learning, Business Sense & Excellence, Personal and Talent Excellence Development, Negotiations and Safety Management.
Tak-Poi has worked with people from many nationalities and disciplines, and at different levels, from Senior Leaders to Plant Supervisors and Operatives in the Oil & Gas industry. His extensive facilitation, consulting and training expertise and experience has been rounded by experience in managing the regional learning strategy & function of a major MNC.
Prior to retirement with Shell in Singapore, Tak-Poi was Regional Learning Manager (Asia Pacific - Middle East) focused on personal & business skills, teambuilding and blended/e-learning, with a US$ 3.5 millon budget responsibility.
